How the company was founded and a subsequent expansion from Brighton to manufacture and delivery across the South an South East and all across London

Steve and Liz Pearce founded Southover Food Company in 1989 with the intention of making and supplying quality cooked hams and other meats in Brighton. Customer demand for more foods meant a rapid expansion, though, and we were soon supplying a wide range of speciality foods as well as quality, cooked meats across Brighton, the South and South East and all across London.

Business has been good over the years and we’ve recently invested in a complete makeover for our production facilities, expanding them into a second unit. Since gaining BRC accreditation our cooked meat production has taken us well ahead of the competition. If you partner that with our expertly managed sales and distribution network covering most of England you can see how far we’ve come from such humble beginnings in a small single unit on an estate in Southwick.

Right now we’re working hard to make sure our foods continue to impress by sourcing original and high quality items whilst striving to innovate with our own cooked meats. We source locally and buy free range whenever we can. It’s important to us that our foods are exactly what they claim to be as well so you can rest assured that, after twenty years of successfully trading on our reputation for excellence, our products are right for you
